Strong Australia Adelaide
The Strong Australia Network centres on getting outside the major cities and bringing together employees, customers, businesses, suppliers, and distributors to discuss the issues facing our regions and work on the solutions to the challenges people face.
The Business Council of Australia and the Committee for Adelaide partnered to bring together leading local and national speakers at a luncheon and panel conversation on 16 August in Adelaide.
The event featured a panel moderated by Sky News’ Political Reporter and Anchor of AM Agenda, Laura Jayes, and included:
- The Premier of South Australia, the Hon Peter Malinauskas MP
- Rachel Yangoyan, Chief Executive Officer, QantasLink
- Bran Black, Chief Executive of the Business Council of Australia
- Sam Dighton, Chief Executive, Committee for Adelaide.
With South Australia poised to be a key contributor to solving Australia’s greatest challenges, including the clean energy transfer and AUKUS Pillars 1 & 2, the panel spoke about how pivotal it is to continue to raise the understanding of the economic opportunities and challenges ahead for South Australia and to bring Australian business together in tackling them.
The importance of connectivity, especially to the regional parts of South Australia, continuing to improve the planning and legislation environment which will make doing business easier, and ensuring we have a workforce with the right skills when we need them were also key topics discussed.
